The most recent pop-up craft that I did was really more art project than craft, but the kids at my library seemed to really like it no matter what you call it. I printed out the outline of a leaf on some heavier paper and set out crayons and watercolors. We filled in the spaces in the leaves with different patterns and colors and then brushed on watercolors for a beautiful resist effect!

I had about 10 kids participate over the time I had this project out. It was fun to see the different ways that they filled in the spaces and the color choices they made – some were bright rainbow leaves and some had more muted fall colors, and still others focused on experimenting by mixing as many colors together as they could. I always love seeing how different the same project can turn out in the hands of different children.
