Ken and I got up at 5:50 this morning to go vote. I’m never up as early as I was today, but this was important. We got to the polling place and there was already a long line queued up. We waited and talked with everyone in line – we vote at an elementary school, so we all talked about the artwork the teachers had posted all over the walls in the halls. (I also took photos because there were some great ideas for library art projects!) After voting, Ken and I headed down to Boychik’s Deli for a post-voting breakfast because exercising civil rights is hungry work. Whoever you are supporting, please go out and vote today. It’s important.

I voted absentee (I’m an election inspector). The process was not a joy. I am sure that we can do better than that sorry collection of candidates on the ballot. We probably would have done better if the candidates had been names picked out of a hat. This election was an embarrassment.
Whew, I feel better for having said it.
Thank you for the get out the vote message. Although I did not like the choices, as an election inspector, I like to see a good turnout.
