Today we were supposed to have a STEM program with our fabulous CSU extension person to make Robot Hands, but unfortunately, she had to cancel. Instead, we made fuse bead crafts. It was a lot of fun to just hang out with the kids and make things and talk and listen to music. We need to do more of this kind of relaxed crafting program. I just printed off some patterns from the Perler website for inspiration and set out the beads and pegboards and let them make whatever they liked. Some kids used the patterns, but others made Christmas ornaments and snowflakes, a “Christmas colored Tie Fighter”, flags, a pokeball, a Yoshi egg, and some various superhero emblems.
